Welcome to Medcast Media. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Medcast Media website, mobile application, and services (collectively, the "Service") operated by Medcast Media Pty Ltd ("us", "we", or "our"). Please read these Terms carefully before using the Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the Terms, you may not access the Service.

2. Description of Service

Medcast Media provides AI-driven audio synopses of medical research and news. The Service includes:

• Audio summaries of medical research papers and news
• Personalised content feeds based on medical specialties
• Mobile and web-based access to content
• Related features and services

3. User Accounts

To access certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Promptly update any changes to your information
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

4. Subscription and Payments

Access to the Service may require a paid subscription or sponsorship:

• Subscription fees are charged in advance on a monthly or annual basis
• Payments are non-refundable except where required by law
• We may modify subscription fees with 30 days notice
• Sponsored access is subject to sponsor terms and conditions

4.1 Auto-renewing subscriptions purchased in the iOS app (App Store)

• Medcast Media offers an auto-renewing monthly subscription. The exact price and currency are shown on the subscription screen before you confirm the purchase, in your local App Store currency.
• Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
• Your subscription renews automatically each month, and your Apple Account is charged the renewal price within 24 hours before the end of the current period, unless you cancel first.
• To stop being charged you must cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Cancelling later takes effect at the end of the following period.
• Manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple Account settings: Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel it.
• If a free trial is ever offered, any unused portion of it is forfeited when you purchase a subscription to the same content.
• Purchases made through the App Store are processed by Apple. Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms, not by Medcast Media.

4.2 Auto-renewing subscriptions purchased in the Android app (Google Play)

• Medcast Media offers an auto-renewing monthly subscription through Google Play. The exact price and currency are shown on the subscription screen and in the Google Play purchase dialog before you confirm.
• Payment is charged to your Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
• Your subscription renews automatically each month, and your Google Play account is charged the renewal price at the start of each new period, unless you cancel first.
• You can cancel at any time before the renewal date. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
• Manage or cancel your subscription in the Google Play Store app: Profile > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions. Uninstalling the app does not cancel it.
• If a free trial is ever offered, any unused portion of it is forfeited when you purchase a subscription to the same content.
• Purchases made through Google Play are processed by Google. Refunds are handled under Google Play's refund policies, not by Medcast Media.

Subscriptions purchased on our website are billed separately and are governed by section 4 above, not by 4.1 or 4.2.

5. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content (excluding content provided by users) are and will remain the exclusive property of Medcast Media Pty Ltd and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used without our prior written permission.

6. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service. By submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and distribute your content for the purpose of providing the Service.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Share your account credentials with others
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service
• Reproduce or redistribute content without permission

8. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any content. Medical information provided through the Service is for informational purposes only and should not replace professional medical advice.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes via email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties, or for any other reason at our sole discretion.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
